The HDLink Utility, which controls the settings and adjusts video levels and colour lookup tables on the HDLink Pro and HDLink Pro 3D Display Port has been updated.

This new download, available free from Blackmagic Design's site, means the HDLink Pro is officially 3D capable. Other new features include:

  • Support for 3D dual stream HD-SDI inputs.
  • Support for 2048x1080 at 23.98p/PsF and 24p/PsF.
  • Support for EDID manual override mode for native frame rate display on supported monitors.
  • 3D Side by Side, Line by Line and Top and Bottom HDMI, DVI and DisplayPort output to supported 3D monitors.

All you have to do is download the PC or Mac version of the update from the link above, run the installer and follow the instructions. Once installed, the HDLink Utility will then check the firmware version on your hardware and update it if necessary.

All in all, it's a pretty painless process, and it's not every day you get a 3D version of your product just by clicking a download link. Now if only I can get my TV to do the same, then we're laughing…
