CineForm's Neo3D and LightWave technologies have formed
the basis of the new Cinedeck EXTREME 3D, on show now at NAB
2011.
The new Cinedeck Stereo Option adds dual camera
monitoring, capture and playback to the EXTREME, giving crews a
highly mobile monitoring solution, complete with HD-SDI and HDMI
monitoring options.
According to Cinedeck's press people, Neo3D is the
"enabling technology" driving the new Stereo Option, as it's built
around a stereo MOV file containing temporarily synced 1920x1080
left and right eye images. Just as in a Neo3D pipeline, these
images are wrapped together in a single file, and can be displayed
on the EXTREME in side-by-side, over-under or interlaced modes as
required, meaning it's easier to make dynamic adjustments to
convergence.
Cinedeck also praise CineForm's Active Metadata codec for
allowing them to reduce the costs associated with S3D conforming,
and for enabling realtime colour correction. "This new
development will transform the stereo 3D production workflow for
Cinedeck EXTREME," Cinedeck assure us. You can judge for yourself
at NAB booth SL12116.
